Arriving at the Theatre
The lobbies of the BU Theatre and the Calderwood Pavilion at the BCA open 45 minutes prior to each performance. The lobby of the BCA Plaza Theatres opens 30 minutes prior to each performance.
Babes in Arms (BTS)
Children under the age of five are not permitted in the theatre unless special arrangements have been made for a specific production. Please check with Box Office staff for more information. Everyone entering the theatre must have a ticket.
Cameras
The use of all cameras and all recording devices in the theatre is prohibited for the safety of the actors.
Coat Check
- BU Theatre: located in the lower level lobby.
- Calderwood Pavilion at the BCA: located in the orchestra lobby.
- BCA Plaza Theatres: none available
Coat check is open at the discretion of the management.
Dress Code
There is no dress code. Audience members attend our performances in everything from jeans to formal attire.
Electronic Devices
Please remember to switch off all watches, pagers, and cell phones during the performance.
Inclement Weather Cancellation Policy
The safety of our patrons, casts, and staff is very important to us. While we rarely cancel a performance due to inclement weather, please contact the Box Office if you have concerns about your ability to attend.
If we make the decision to cancel a performance, we will attempt to contact all ticket holders in advance of the announced start time.
Late Arrival
We make every effort to begin our performances on time. In consideration of our actors and other audience members‚ latecomers will be seated at the discretion of the management. Latecomers may not be seated in their assigned seats until intermission.
Length of Performance
Performance times vary from show to show. Visit the Shows and Events page and select the show you are attending for run time information or call the Box Office at 617 933 8600.
Location of Performance
Please check your tickets, the website, or staff when purchasing your tickets to confirm the location of your performance. Productions purchased through BTS may take place at the BU Theatre on the Avenue of the Arts (264 Huntington Avenue), the Calderwood Pavilion at the BCA in the South End (527 Tremont Street), or the BCA Plaza Theatres (539 Tremont Street).
Lost and Found
Objects found in the theatre may be given to an usher or brought to coat check.

Missing Tickets
Tickets purchased with certain discounts are held at the Box Office for discount verification.
If you did not use a discount, please allow 7 to 10 days after you purchase for your tickets to arrive in the mail.
If you ordered your tickets within one week of performance, they will be held at the Box Office.
Tickets can be picked up at any time between the time of purchase and the performance at either of our Box Office locations (Avenue of the Arts / BU Theatre, 264 Huntington Ave.; South End / Calderwood Pavilion at the BCA, 527 Tremont Street).
Refreshments
Snacks, wine, beer, soft drinks, and coffee are available in the lobbies of the BU Theatre and Calderwood Pavilion at the BCA before curtain and at intermission. You may preorder concessions before the performance begins and they will be waiting for you at intermission. All concessions are permitted inside those theatres.
Concessions in the BCA Plaza Theatres lobby are sold at the discretion of the presenting or producing company. Only covered beverages and water are allowed inside the BCA Plaza Theatre and BCA Black Box.
Service Fees
There is a $5.50 per-ticket handling fee for all orders placed by phone or online. There is no fee for tickets purchased in person at one of our outlet locations (Avenue of the Arts / BU Theatre, 264 Huntington Ave.; South End / Calderwood Pavilion at the BCA, 527 Tremont Street).
Ticket Reprints
For performances with reserved seating, tickets can be reprinted and held at the Box Office. A photo ID is required for pick-up. We apologize but we are unable to reprint tickets for general admission events.
Unable to Attend
Please check with our Box Office staff to see if arrangements are available for the production you are scheduled to attend.
