Haydn Gwynne

Haydn Gwynne previusly performed in the US as Desiree Armfeldt in A Little Night Music (Huntington Theatre Company), Queen Elizabeth opposite Kevin Spacey in Richard III (The Old Vic/Brooklyn Academy of Music New York), and as the dance teacher in Billy Elliot The Musical for which she received Drama Desk, Outer Critics Circle, and Theatre World Awards, as well as nominations for Olivier and Tony Awards (West End and Broadway). She recently finished the London production of Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown (Olivier Award nomination). Other West End credits include Margaret Thatcher opposite Helen Mirren in the The Audience and Oolie/Donna in City of Angels (Olivier Award nomination). Other London premieres include The Memory of Water and Becky Shaw directed by Peter DuBois. For the Royal Shakespeare Company, she has performed in A Midsummer Night’s DreamTwelfth Night, Peer Gynt, and The Merry Wives of Windsor. Television credits include lead roles in British series “Peak Practice,” “Merseybeat,” “Nice Work,” and “Drop the Dead Donkey” (from these, three Royal Television Society Awards for Best Actress, as well as nominations for a British Comedy Award and a British Academy of Film and Television Award). Other television credits include “Sherlock,” “Ripper Street,” and “Rome.” She recently completed filming on Disney’s live action version of Beauty and the Beast.
