BU Theatre

Stages at the BU Theatre

Designed and constructed as America's first civic playhouse, the building today known as the Boston University Theatre was the first tax-exempt theatre established in the nation.

There are two stages at the Avenue of the Arts Campus - the BU Theatre and the Lane-Comley Studio 210. The box office for both stages is located at 264 Huntington Avenue.

Directions & Parking

The Boston University Theatre is located at 264 Huntington Avenue.

Before your visit, plan your route to the theatre, by car, by foot, or using Boston’s public transit system. If you’re driving to the theatre, we recommend a number of parking garages in the area.

The Avenue of the Arts / BU Theatre is ramp accessible and can accommodate both wheelchair and companion seating in the orchestra section. A lavatory and water fountain accessible to individuals with limited mobility are located in the lobby on the main floor. The Uptown Garage at 10 Gainsborough Street provides ample handicapped parking with easy access to the Huntington.

Dining near the BU Theatre

The BU Theatre is located at the crossroads of the Back Bay, the South End, and the Fenway, a few blocks away from the Prudential Center. A number of local businesses offer discounts to Huntington ticket holders. We encourage you to patronize these fine establishments and to thank them for their support of the Huntington.
