A severed head, a love story, a chest full of secrets, and a conspiracy theory befitting the most infamous of Henry VIII’s wives, this century-hopping look at the great English heroine premiered at Shakespeare’s Globe in 2010. Brenton’s play investigates the impact Anne Boleyn may have had on religion in England, in particular on King James and his Bible.
