About

Desire features six short plays by contemporary playwrights based on short stories by Tennessee Williams.  The contemporary playwrights include Elizabeth Egloff, Marcus Gardley, Williams Rebecca Gilman, David Grimm, John Guare, and Beth Henley.  The contemporary playwrights adapt Williams’ stories sometimes in period pieces, other times relocated to the current timeframe.

“The title, Desire, acknowledges that every Williams character grappled with a sexual appetite. The consequences could be crippling, destructive and, literally, all-consuming,” noted the New York Daily News.
