Williams's loosely autobiographical and tragic tale of a fragile
Southern family abandoned by their patriarch. In 1937 St. Louis, an
aloof son desperate for freedom, a delicate daughter obsessed with her
glass animal collection, and a meddlesome mother eagerly await the
arrival of a gentleman caller.
Directed by Jim Petosa, Director of the BU School of Theatre and
Artistic Director for the Olney Theatre Center, The Glass Menagerie
features faculty members Paula Langton, Michael Kaye, and Christine
Hamel, as well as senior acting student Jesse Rudoy, all of whom have
established notable reputations in the Boston theatre scene.
This is the premier production of BCAP, the Boston Center for American
Performance, Boston University's new professional performing arts
initiative.
