Jason Robert Brown's Songs For A New World is a musical about the heart of the American identity and spirit that chronicles the critical moments in our both collective and personal histories when we, in that "one moment", are forced to make a choice that will change our lives forever. The musical transports us from the deck of 1492 sailing ship, to a family in 1849 on the verge of a great discovery, to an inner-city basketbal court in the late 1980s, exploring journeys at the center of the American psyche. These are songs for a new world.
Approximate running time is 2 hours with one intermission.
