About

Two weeks after a school shooting, nine teenagers return to class. In a theatrical style reminiscent of Our Town, they try to piece together the fragments of their last ordinary day together. Billie becomes their spokesperson—an African American girl at the center of a wheel of friendships and group chats that involve all the strong, confusing emotions of high school. With a contemporary sound evoking musicals like Dear Evan Hansen, LATE explores the students’ interconnected stories as they wrestle with identity, social pressure, love, grief and memory.
