Volatile Structures

Choreographed by Vimoksha/Chavi Bansal

Presented by Boston Center for the Arts
South End / Calderwood Pavilion
June 9 - June 10, 2017

Utilizing rhythmic structures from Classical Indian dance and the physically active meditation of spiritual dance forms, Vimoksha’s Volatile Structures explores everyday rituals and the comfort or restraint they provide.

Created in residence at Boston Center for the Arts, this premiere work by choreographer Chavi Bansal leads us on a journey through chaos in order to investigate rituals and the sense of safety they can provide. The evening will also include a collection of company repertoire focused on human emotions and mind activity originally created in The Netherlands, India and Norway.

Approximate Running Time: 1 hour, no intermission
