Feel the power of the world's greatest writer in a whole new way.
"There is enough talent here to tackle the entire Shakespearean canon. Mobilizing a large cast that includes a remarkable number of Boston’s best actors, director Peter DuBois generates an onrushing velocity.”  — The Boston Globe
"Love is in the air at the Huntington! I've never seen a production like this before. I really enjoyed it!”  — Jared Bowen, WGBH
"The tale is hyper relevant in these deeply divided times, and the Huntington rises to the occasion with a supercharged production and a cavalcade of local stars.”  — Joyce Kulhawik, Joyce's Choices
"A contemporary, muscular version of the romantic tragedy. DuBois' updating affirms the timelessness of one of the Bard's most enduring works.”  — Broadway World

The most famous love story of all time – and the most moving tale of an ill-fated romance ever told – Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet comes to the Huntington Theatre Company as a thrillingly modern event helmed by Artistic Director Peter DuBois. This astoundingly current, gorgeously realized production nods to the political fractures of our current era, the cultural differences that pull us apart, and the enduring power of passion. If you think you know Romeo and Juliet, you’ve never seen anything like this… and you’ll feel the power of the world’s greatest writer in a whole new way.
